Numerous reports have suggested that the iPhone 5S will arrive later in the summer this year. It is common knowledge that the production process for such a high profile model needs to begin a couple of months ahead of a launch and new images of parts for this model suggest that this process is already underway.
A set of images containing mobile parts may not seem like the most exciting piece of mobile news but these latest snaps of iPhone 5S components suggests that Apple have already begun production of the new device. These images were sent to leading Tech site BGR who then published them on their popular website. In the images a number of key components can be seen including the housing for speakers, WiFi ribbon flex and SIM card trays. Obviously the authenticity of these snaps is unknown although BGR are normally a very reliable source so they are likely to be the real deal. In the same report the site also report that despite difference in some of the internals the external look of the iPhone 5S will be identical to the iPhone 5. This supports numerous other rumours that are circulating about the device.
Despite an increasing number of reports about the iPhone 5S there is currently some confusion as to whether the device will arrive at all. This is thanks to an inventory listing from Vodafone UK which did not feature the 5S model but did include the iPhone 6, a model which we did not initially expect to see until 2014. This listing has led to reports that Apple may opt to skip the 5S model and go straight to releasing the 6. We feel that this move is unlikely and a more realistic scenario is that the iPhone 5S will actually be the new budget model that has been reported. This would in turn mean that Apple could introduce the iPhone 6 as the new flagship device with a brand new design and improved specification.
We are likely to see the iPhone 5S in September but whether this model will be the new premium device or the budget iPhone remains to be seen. We will keep you updated with this story as news emerges.
