Social Networking plays a major part in modern smartphone usage and Facebook is currently the most popular social networking service in the world. Recently the company unveiled Facebook Home, new software for Android smartphones that makes using the service easier than ever before. Facebook Home works over the top of the standard Android user interface and enables a host of information to be presented directly on the main home screen of the device in question. This information can range from messages to updates while interacting with the service is also simpler than ever before. Millions of consumers around the globe will be delighted with the new service despite some analysts labelling the new software as obtrusive. At the moment just three Android handsets can access the service which are the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Galaxy Note 2 and the HTC One. It looks increasingly likely that the iPhone 5S will soon add its name to this list.

Latest reports from Bloomberg news agency suggest that executives from Facebook are currently in discussion with both Apple and Windows in an effort to bring their new software to a wider range of smartphone users across the globe. If discussions between Facebook and Apple prove successful then it is likely that we may be treated to Facebook Home as part of the iOS7 software featured on the iPhone 5S. The director of product at Facebook, Adam Mosseri, stated “We’ve shown them what we’ve built and we’re just in an ongoing conversation”. Of course there is the possibility that we may see aspects of the new Facebook software appear on the new iPhone without the whole package being present. Either way Facebook users on this new model are set to benefit from some great improvements over the current version of the service which is integrated in iOS.

The iPhone 5S is rumoured to be released this summer and it looks likely that Facebook Home may play a major part on this new model.
