The new iPhone 5S is expected to be released later this year and although we are not expecting any major design changes on the new model the handset is set to boast some excellent software including the eagerly awaited iOS 7 operating system. Dates have now been confirmed for Apple’s WWDC event which is where the company traditionally unveil the next generation of their popular operating system.
It has been announced that Apple’s World Wide Developers Congress event will take place this year between the 10th and the 14th of June. As has become traditional the major event will take place in San Francisco and tickets are now on available for anybody with a keen interest in which direction Apple are taking the next version of their iOS operating system. Apple use this event to showcase lots of new software but the real crowd pleaser is set to be iOS7 which we expect to be unveiled at the event. Following WWDC the software is likely to get a release at around the same time as the new iPhone 5S which many reports are suggesting will arrive in September. Despite there being no confirmation as to whether iOS7 will debut at WWDC it would come as a major shock if Apple choose not to reveal many of the softwares key features at this prestigious event.
At the 2012 WWDC Apple launched their iOS6 software which was released just a few hours ahead of the iPhone 5 device. iOS6 offered a host of changes from previous versions of the software including some key improvements to the Facetime feature which enabled calls to be conducted over cellular networks rather than just WiFi. The popular Safari web browser also featured a number of key improvements to boost its functionality and user friendliness. We are expecting iOS7 for the iPhone 5S to offer even more in the way of changes. The new iPhone is not set to boast any major design changes so the focus will be on the software offered by the phone so expect Apple to pull out all of the stops with the next version of the popular platform.
WWDC 2013 will take place in San Francisco during June and it is likely to be the first opportunity that we get to see what the forthcoming iOS7 software and the the new iPhone 5S will offer in the way of features.
